While the heart of Ruakura Rugby Football Club lies in its social Kaupapa, reconnecting past players and staff of the Chiefs Rugby Club, the opportunity to take the field remains an important part of how we express who we are.
From time to time, Ruakura RFC will come together to play invitational matches, carefully selected to mark significant occasions within our Chiefs Region community. These games may serve asfundraisers, commemorations, or celebrations of rugby milestones , events, or people who have shaped the game.
We also recognise the role we can play in fostering the future. On occasion, we will assemble age-grade representative teams, offering young talent meaningful rugby experiences that support their growth.
Every match we play will be more than just a game — it will be a full experience. A gathering of rugby people, a celebration of the sport’s spirit, and a chance to connect across generations of players, coaches, staff and supporters.
We are proud to tip our hat to tradition, upholding some of the etiquette, humility, and respect that rugby was built on.
When Ruakura RFC takes the field, we do so with honour. Our teams will be managed by past coaches and staff, reuniting those who helped build the legacy of the Chiefs. We will take the field in a traditional playing uniform that reflects the club’s distinctive colours, a nod to the identity we carry and the stories we honour.
Ruakura Rugby Football Club matches are about manaakitanga, connection, and pride, where the final whistle is just the beginning of the conversation.
